At the Hands On Art Studio in Door County, Wisconsin (post garage sale weekend and the day after the Beachfront Inn), Matt melted glass to make me some jewelry:
He did this all by his ownself:
(Eric, who is awesome enough to actually live in a trailer behind the welding studio, helped a little).
The girls fed the chickens, and enjoyed walking around while the flock parted like a prow through the ocean at their feet: Then they treated the mosaics barn like their own private candy shop: Sydney decorated a triceratops: Willow decorated a bunny:
If I, too, could someday find myself running a crazy DIY art studio with a farm attached, husband and kids in tow, I'd consider myself fixed up just about right.
Wouldn't that be totally awesome, having your own DIY studio with all the extras like a farm? I dream of that too...
ReplyDeleteOk, now I want to go on your exact same vacation. Seriously, I might have to do it. Also, I wanted to be sure that you knew about tonight's call-out meeting of the Cutters Craft Brigade~ it's at the library from 6:30-7:30 in Rm. 1B. Should be interesting!
ReplyDeleteBelieve me, it was challenging to find cool stuff to do in Wisconsin. Matt told his mother that I was looking at Wisconsin guide books, and she's seriously all, "They make Wisconsin guide books?"
ReplyDeleteIt would be a good place for our farm, though. But our farm is going to be in Oregon, where I also dream of living--might as well kill two fantasies with one stone, you know.
When we lived in Iowa, we thought about checking this place out. We never made it there though.
ReplyDeleteNow I think we might have to give it a try on our next trip home.
I loveloveloveloveLOVE that place, and have never seen anything like it since!
