Backyard Archery

Will's Lil' Banshee bow only has an 18lb draw, but it's just about too much for her.
Thank goodness for a patient Daddy!
He helps her draw her bow Every. Single. Time, and has an attention span for it that's at least 20 minutes longer than mine.
Because we need more weird things to do in our yard? I guess the hay bale target can live next to the chicken tractor and the DIY aerial silks rig.

  1. Fun! So how's the search for a new place coming... ;0)

  2. I know, right? I did find myself glancing uncomfortably over my shoulder a couple of times as we practiced, but all remained quiet. I guess if a certain someone barges over to protest, we can throw a chicken at him and run away!

  3. Ok, that made me laugh loud enough that Emma is demanding to know what's so funny.

I can totally see that playing out in my head. Thanks :0)

  4. Does Willow still shoot? Emma has expressed interest and we are starting our research on archery (and by we I mean me as a for of procrastination from studying for finals).

  5. We had to stop because our backyard didn't have enough space (read: we kept punching arrows into the siding), butbutBUT our new house has oodles of space, and whipping out the bow and arrow again is one of the activities that we're SO excited about getting to do after we move.

Our Lil Banshee, though, is still really hard for Will to draw, and impossible for Syd. I'd suggest getting a bow with a weaker draw than that one to start--I don't remember the draw weight of ours, but it's easy to find online.
